Life Long Friends

"If there ever existed such a cerebral notion as "beyond love" - it's here where the heartfelt warmth and closeness are expressed through musical weavings by Jo's "family" of musicians who are a part of her life personally and musically." - Executive Producer, Robert Ragsac Sr.
Life Long Friends is a culmination of love and honor for the past and the future. As Josie "Jo" Canion expressed, "Life Long Friends... that's how I feel about music. Like family and friends, music is a constant presence in my life."
Since the age of 8 or 9 she was influenced and hooked to jazz through her brothers and it was then handed to her four young daughters, who toured the world as The Third Wave. This feisty and talented young group was under the direction of George Duke performing with such greats as Carmen McRae, Dizzy Gillespie, and Dionne Warwick. This love for music was truly a family affair.
Now Jo has rounded up a top notch group of her own, featuring Al Molina on trumpet, Noel Jukes on Tenor Sax and flute, Frank Passantino on bass, Vince Lateano and Buddy Barnhill on drums, Larry Chin and Peter Horvath on piano and finally the sultry bond that made this album as warm as a California sunny day, Josie "Jo" Canion.
As Cookie Marenco, founder of Blue Coast Records noted, "Jo Canion brings youthful energy to her first recording using the West Coast's finest jazz musicians..." This is NOT an album to pass up and should be placed in your catalog of amazing jazz!
